Stoney Creek

A COMMUNITY OF BELIEVERS WHO DESIRE TO SEE
THEIR PEOPLE EXPERIENCE GOD IN POWERFUL WAYS.
"REVIVE US AGAIN,
OH LORD"

WHAT IS REVIVAL?
Revival is a "reawakening" or "a bringing back to life".
A period of "Revival" is often seen as an unusual blessing from God of His power and presence in the life of the church.
Revival primarily occurs in the church, among believers, which will secondarily affect those outside of the church.
The term "revival" has been used over the years in church circles as a name for evangelistic crusades. We desire both; a mighty work of God reviving believers and drawing non-believers to Himself.
Adapted from Dr. Martyn-Lloyd Jones' writings and sermons on revival.
"Revival begins and continues with the presence of God."
J.I. Packer
"Oh, that You would tear open the heavens and come down,
That the mountains would quake at Your presence."
Isaiah 64:1
ELEMENTS OF REVIVAL?

PRAYER
Revival often starts with a deep sense of need and a hunger for God, leading to persistent and passionate prayer.

WORD
Along with revival comes a renewed commitment to reading, studying, and living according to God's Word.

WORSHIP
Revival often centers around a realization and worshipful response to God's holiness, power, and love.

EVANGELISM
Within revival, God will often draw others to repent and believe because of the powerful work that He is doing among the believers.

COMMUNTIY
Unity among believers in prayer, confession, and worship helps create the fertile ground the revival is often birthed from.
ABOUT REVIVE STONEY CREEK
We are a collaboration of churches and believers in the Stoney Creek area who work together for the glory of God, the salvation of the lost, and the revival of the church. This group began with a text message from one pastor to a few others about ministry partnership. Now it has grown to include more than twenty Stoney Creek churches who pray together regularly and are preparing for a community revival together. We are not a denomination or association, but we are local churches who desire God to work in and through us.
